About Eric and Bonnie Woofter

The Woofter Ranch brand was established in 2020 when the decision to change the business model from raising Angus cattle, to raising Dexter cattle, was made and the rest they say, "is history".   The Woofter Ranch brand, Bar W₇, was registered in the state of Kansas in October 2020 and we started with six "foundation" Dexter cows that arrived in January 2021.  

The first cows began calving shortly after they arrived and additional cattle were added throughout that year bringing the herd to approximately 50 head including two primary herd sires.  Aquisition of our first herd sire, Daggett's Fredwin was an integral part of bringing heritage foundation genetics into our program.  

While raising quality cattle with outstanding genetics is our passion, we both continue to work other occupations - Eric in agriculture and Bonnie in healthcare.   Together, we have seven grown children and ten grandchildren.  Our family is a blended one with as much variety as the land we live on.

Woofter Ranch is a diversified business consisting of farmland for crops, pastures for grazing/riding and ponds for fishing.  We strive for production of bulls and cows with outstanding confirmation for breeding stock and grass fed/grain finished lean beef.  The dogs, donkeys, horses and cattle of the ranch are just as varied as the land on which we live.    We hope you enjoy the online introductions of our herd and other residents of the Woofter Ranch as much as we enjoy every aspect of them!
